The Story of Living Aloha

Aloha! I've been waiting all my life to share "The Story of Living Aloha," too bad my good friend "Aesop," beat me to it.

Go here to get a background on Aesop and his fable "The North Wind & The Sun."

I'm going to tell the "Bruddah Aloha Version" of the "Northern Wind & The Southern Sun..."

One day, the Southern Sun and the Northern Wind were having a friendly conversation, when the topic of "Who's the strongest?" came up...

So they decided to have a friendly competition...

They happen to see a young boy in a nice warm jacket walking down the street. The Northern Wind said... "Hey, I got an idea... The one who can get the boy to take off his jacket, WINS, the competition!"

And the competition begins...

The Northern Wind, says "I'll go first..." this is no problem!!! Piece of Cake...

He begins to blow..., "it gets colder," and with every gust of wind the tighter the boy grips on to his jacket. The Northern Wind begins to wear down to the point he just gives up, because the boy just won't budge.

Next, the Southern Sun, starts to shine his brightest and bring all of his warmth. The boy begins to loosen up his jacket, and finally, not being able to take in all this warmth, the boy takes off his jacket.

The moral of this story...

The "colder" or "threatening" you are, people will be less willing to follow you, in other words you can't "force," people to do what you want them to do...

but, if you are "friendly," and "very warm," people will be more receptive to what you have to say, in other words they are more likely to be persuaded by you because of the warmth they are treated with.

Bottom line... "Live Aloha," like the Southern Sun... The brighter your future will be, people will respect you, and value your advice. Don't be like the Northern Wind or you'll be stuck in the cold...

Hope you have enjoyed this fable as much as I enjoyed telling it!!!

"Live Aloha!!!"
