Entrepreneur Workshop

Aloha, Kakou,

How are you spending your Labor Day Weekend?

My boys and I enjoyed a fabulous two day Employment Conference at the Hilo Hawaii Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, open to LDS members and friends interested in employment opportunities.

This is the first year of this conference that featured Key Note Speaker, Bishop Von Logan from LDS Employment Services in Honolulu, Hawaii and LDS business leaders & entrepreneurs in the East Hawaii Island Area.

This activity was headed by B.J. Vegera, Hilo Hawaii Stake LDS Employment Specialist.  Activities on the first day, included, a role playing game where participants were divided into companies and acted out their assigned roles.  A dinner was provided for all participants, which featured the Key Note Speaker, Bishop Logan, who spoke about his experience in the many jobs that he had over the course of his life journey and left many employment tips for conference participants. The first day was then, capped off with a local LDS business leader's panel discussion, that was filled with even more words of wisdom.

The final day of the conference, featured Bishop Logan in an entrepreneurs workshop.  Participants were treated to group assignments, basic business fundamentals, a first hand look at how a business runs, and ideas & tips on how to choose a business.

I encouraged my son's to participate in this conference it won't be too long that they'll be graduating from high school, serving missions, and attending college.  I thought this would be a great way for us as a family to prepare for the future.

Have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
